Thomas Vass

Thomas Vass is Manager for the Young Scholars Initiative, a community graduate and entry level scholars supported by the Institute for New Economic Thinking.

Thomas Vass holds a MA in Economics from The New School for Social Research and a M.Sc. in Philosophy of the Social Sciences from London School of Economics. Prior to joining the institute he was involved with the student movement to reform economics and was lead organizer of the Rethinking Economics New York conference.

Academically, Thomas Vass’ research interests are philosophy of economics and elucidating the philosophical underpinnings of mainstream microeconomics

Political setback for new "Economics & Society" section in France

Plans to establish an administrative section on “Economics and Society” in the French university system have run into problems as the members of the existing economics section violently opposes it. Although the ministry of education had already promised the establishment of such sections plans have come to a halt.
